So it's back to content creation. I've done an assessment, and here's where things stand:
- Substack: I have enough Bad Online English to last me until only December 1, which gives me a couple weeks to make enough material to finish out the year and go one or two weeks into January 2026. Generating BOE material is easy enough; I can do several a day.
- Also Substack: I have enough paid content for grammar ("The Profound") to last me through Friday of this week, so this is a serious concern. It also takes longer to generate this content, which is meatier and more in-depth.
- Also also Substack: I have enough creative content ("The Creative") to last me through the end of December (the 30th for that content), so I don't have to worry about that for while. To get me into January, I need only slap up two weeks' worth of content.
Top priority, then, is to generate paid material for The Profound to last me through January. Next is BOE material for The Superficial (free content), and finally, there's the creative stuff. Beyond all of that, I have to keep generating content for my blog, which still includes embedded YouTube videos. I scheduled a bunch of videos to appear through Sunday; I have hundreds more in the queue, waiting to be embedded. If it takes 35 videos to supply a week's worth of scheduled embedded material, then I currently have about ten weeks' worth of videos I can upload. I'll try to get all of those prepped so I can be good through most of January. And it goes without saying that I add original content (like this very post) in and around the scheduled stuff. Along with all of that, I've got to finish up work on my walk blog—uploading pics, enlarging them, editing posts, then adding captions and commentary. That's going to take me into December at the very least.
It's good to have material prepped well beforehand so I can, for example, take a break between Christmas and New Year's. If it hasn't snowed, and if the ground isn't icy during that time, and assuming my toe has healed, I might do one or more long walks during the Christmas-New Year's axis. Commenter Paul has suggested the "Heart Course" several times; it's about the same length as my "crazy walks," which I never did this year, i.e., around 60 kilometers. If I can do the Heart Course in one day before the end of the year, then I'll have gotten in my yearly crazy walk. This kind of course used to take me about 16.5 hours including breaks; I might have to go over 24 hours these days, but we'll see.
Righto—en avant, les gars!
Reading this makes me glad to be retired. But then, even when I worked, I never worked as hard as you are these days. I'm impressed.
