Dr. Hodges has written his own account of yesterday's events.
The post previous to that is also a good read: in it, Dr. Hodges looks at the phenomenon of Muslim terrorism and tries to find predictive factors. In doing so, he notes (and I agree) that poverty most assuredly is not one of the primary motivators of terrorism.
And since I'm reading backward through Dr. Hodges's posts, I should note that the post just before the above-linked one lays the groundwork for questions about "triggering factors." This post finishes by saying, "I think that we need to be asking both sorts of questions -- what is it about Islam, and what are the triggering factors?"
