John McCrarey has had his dog Buddy for a while, now, and he recently acquired a local dog that he's named Lucky. Lucky had been poorly treated for most of his young life, being tied to a short leash and essentially neglected except for the most minimal treatment. John's pics of the sad dog were depressing enough, and John made the move to purchase the miserable puppy from his owner. Lucky had acquired the mange, as John found out during a visit to the local veterinarian, so a regimen that included shots and plenty of medicinal shampoos was prescribed. (For more information on mange, see here.) As a precaution, because the mange involves mites that leap easily from dog to dog, John kept Lucky separated from Buddy for the first week or so. Buddy was understandably curious about the new arrival, and I imagine one of John's questions was whether the two dogs would end up getting along. Well, he needn't have worried. The dogs became fast friends, and the pics of them hanging, playing, and walking together are heart-warming.
Congrats, John, on building a loving family!
Thanks for the shout out, Kev. Here's hoping I have better luck with dogs than women. Hmm, they are both male dogs so maybe...
