Charles's victory

My buddy Charles wrote me to show off the results of his pizza-making efforts. With his permission, I now pass a visual of that success along to you:

While I think this crust looks magnificent, Charles says it's a work in progress, and that he'll eventually write about the crust-making experience on his site.

What you see above is an artisanal pizza with thinly sliced tomatoes, crumbled Stilton cheese, crumbled walnuts, and a honey drizzle. Charles might quibble with the "artisanal" label, but to me, if it's not the usual pepperoni-and-cheese, meat lover's, or combo pizza, it's artisanal.

That really is a nice crust.

  1. No quibbles with the "artisanal" label; I will take it as a compliment. Given the unevenness of the crust, we could probably also call it "rustic." Heh.

  2. I thought the unevenness was a feature, not a bug.

  3. For the type of pizza I was going for, yeah, it could be considered a feature. Next time, though, I would like to try a different shaping method that will produce a crust that is a little more uniform in terms of thickness, at least in the center (the outer rim will still hopefully have that rustic lumpiness).

  4. See, because you said "outer rim," I'm now thinking about Star Wars and the Outer Rim territories.
