The swans I photographed this month were in the canal connecting the two lakes; the swans and ducks you and I saw were over in Lake Brienz, past Giessbach Falls and just before Iseltwald.
I'm guessing that the swan pictured below was holding its wings up because the water was winter-cold. But I don't really know that for sure.
