hwae-shik

A hwae-shik is a sort of company dinner, done out on the town. YB, whose branch managers are mostly Korean, had its first hwae-shik tonight, and according to one of my coworkers, it was in my honor as a sort of "Goodbye for now" party. I almost didn't go, given my workload, but I'm glad I did. I like my supervisors and coworkers a lot, so it was good to sit with them for a brief hour, just munching and talking at a Japanese-American buffet in Manassas. I'm now off for six weeks, and I'll miss them all.
