and now, we schlep home

I got here, to the office, a bit before 11 a.m. this morning. It's now after 9:30 p.m., and I'm heading home for the night. Will be back tomorrow: I'm finishing up a project for my current boss, and I want it to be done on his watch, as he'll no longer be my boss come Monday. "Don't kill yourself over it," the boss said to me on Friday, but I'm a completist when the spirit moves me. So I expect to spend another ten or so hours tomorrow on this project, which I'll finish, come hell or high water, before Sunday is done. Whether my new boss will be cool with the concept of "comp hours" is something I'll find out soon enough.

I've been walking at night, often long enough to get in over 20,000 steps, but it's been miserable: heat, humidity, and no goddamn wind at all. I tried the old creek walk last night but had to turn around after eight staircases (out of fourteen). Eight staircases' worth of steps is enough to put me over the number of steps it takes to walk from the B1 level to the 14th floor of my building (520 steps versus 337 steps), so when I got back to Daecheong Tower, I took the elevator and didn't feel I was cheating. My cardio is definitely improving: I'm way better than I had been six weeks ago. It's enough to be thankful for the little things.

Right—off home. More later, perhaps.
