Just look at this door:
I can't begin to describe the emotions that this image evoked in me. There's so much about it that feels so emblematic of all the things I've long loved about Europe: history, symbolism, art, a different way of looking at and processing the world. This door, which I encountered while I was wandering around lost on my way to the Eiffel Tower, was a reminder that I am now in a different universe.
