sexed-up pizza redux

I had myself two salads and a small frozen pizza. Once again, the pizza was marvelous after I sexed it up. A journey in pictures:

chili gambas (prawn) pizza

Look again at this photo on the box.

And here is the ugly reality. Seven scrawny shrimp.

The sexification begins.

I spread the cheese evenly over the surface.

12 minutes of baking, 5 minutes' broiling

This looks more like an edible pizza.

As I did last time, I thawed the shrimp and coated the little fuckers with mayonnaise dusted with a combination of harissa powder, Cajun seasoning, chipotle flakes, and garlic powder. (The mayo is mostly oil, but there's some egg in there to promote browning during baking.) The cheese was left over from when I made lasagna: a mix of mozzarella, Parmigiano, garlic powder, and parsley. Like last time, the result was once again light-years better than any typical frozen pizza. For the broil this time, I cranked up the heat and moved the pizza closer to the burners. That did the trick: I got the cheese to brown.
