It no longer walks the earth:
OJ Simpson has died of cancer while serving a prison sentence. He was 76, and his life followed a weird, sad trajectory. He was a football star and even tried his hand in Hollywood, appearing in TV commercials and movies. Then came the 90s, and the accusation that he had killed his ex-wife Nicole along with her friend Ron. Acquitted of criminal action, Simpson was found guilty in a civil suit, and he was later imprisoned for a totally unrelated reason stemming from armed robbery and an alleged attempt to recover supposedly stolen personal items. The specter of cancer had plagued Simpson over his final years, and the disease finally got him.
Our petty human pursuits end in vanity.
