I suppose a lot of you think my essays on religion are completely irrelevant to your daily lives. I suppose a lot of you sneer at how I actually take questions related to ultimate reality seriously. But, folks, there are reasons to read the scriptures and respect them, and those reasons apply directly to daily life-- yes, yours and mine.
For instance, one of the great commandments of the Decalogue is that we aren't supposed to make "graven images."
Why?
Because if you do, Jesus'll fucking kill you.
Think I'm kidding? Think I'm trying to blend humor and theology? Then you obviously didn't read this.
