NK farted

Visit the Marmot et al. for more updates and speculation about the possible explosion in NK. People seem to be narrowing down the alternatives, focusing largely on the possibility that this was an enormous ammo dump explosion. Satellite imagery seems to suggest the explosion site was in a heavily forested area and close to a rail line, very close to the Chinese border. If North Korea were to push south across the DMZ in a war, the site would be at the rear of the conflict and, with the rail line, would form the basis for a supply line to rush ammo southward to the front lines. The idea that this is an ammo site makes sense from that perspective, but the fact is that the experts are still sifting through the data. More to come; keep following the bloggers who are on the case.
