good thing #2

One of my favorite students sent me a text message earlier today saying that "our intensive class" (she's referring to the class pictured in this post) was planning to get together for a picnic on April 8 out in the Gwa-ch'eon region, south of Seoul. I'm planning to bring some French- or Swiss-style sandwiches, plus some fruits. It's gonna be fun. Even if it rains.

  1. You need:

    1 baguette
1 wheel of brie, room temperature
1 large hunk of butter, room temperature
thinly sliced salami, enough to line a baguette

(If you want, you can add thinly sliced tomatoes, but the sandwich doesn't require them. If you want veggies, it might be best to pack along a salad.)

Slice the baguette lengthwise, but not all the way through. Butter the bread on one side; smear the brie (skin and all) on the other. Add the salami.

    Close.

    Eat.

And there we go. I love that sandwich. It brings back fond memories.
