Uh...he died in 2006.
ReplyDeleteDon Knotts died in 2006.
ReplyDeleteJust thought you'd like to know.
OK, so I'm a little slow on the uptake. I'm sure Elisson's tribute mentioned 2006, and I somehow missed that.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing, though, how quickly people react to my tossed-off posts, but I get no reaction at all to posts that I slave over. What a weird readership.
OK, I see that Elisson did not mention 2006, but he also didn't imply that Knotts had recently died, so all blame for being slow on the uptake rests on me.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad, Kev. Think of all the folks who died just after Michael Jackson did. Who noticed?
ReplyDeleteThe commenting thing makes perfect sense, really. A short note like this one merits an equally short, no-thought reply. Major posts require digesting. I for one would avoid a single sentence comic response to a 1500-word essay. When I do reply to those, it's after a lot of careful reading and careful thought, and that takes time (which I don't always have) and focus (which is often in short supply).
ReplyDeleteIt's just a bit late
