grasse matinée, journée affairée

Woke up late and am about to do today's stair work—my final time doing one staircase. Starting next week, I ratchet up to 1.5 staircases (26 floors + an extra 12). It's amazing to me how resistant my blood pressure is to going down despite all the exercise. I remember back to when I'd just left the hospital with the news that I have a weak heart ringing in my ears. (Weak heart = low ejection fraction = slow circulation of blood = blood possibly coagulating in far-reaching parts of the body = necessity for blood thinners to prevent clotting.) Back then, I could barely make it up five floors. Now, I'm on the verge of doing 38 floors, and my BP is still high. Sigh... maybe it's my natural BP.

Anyway, the relentless pursuit of goals continues. At my weigh-in tomorrow morning, I'm expecting to have gained back a bit of weight, but as I said, I've got my big walk coming up, so I'm not too worried about putting a few kilos back on. My belt is telling me that I can still cinch it down to the second-to-last hole, so I can't have gained too much weight since my last weigh-in. MyFitnessPal insists that I've operated at a caloric deficit for most of the past week (except Tuesday), so how bad can things be? Barring my Tuesday cheat day, I've been away from sugary treats this entire time, so depending on how strictly I fast tonight, tomorrow's blood sugar ought to be anywhere from the 70s to the 90s.

Today, once I finish my stair work, I'll do my resistance-band/weight training, then head out to Itaewon to shop for a backpack with a hip belt. After that, at 6 p.m., I'm meeting up with JW for a walk out to Jamshil Bridge and back. Busy day.
