Gawd, back to work tomorrow

The transition back to regular civilization after a month of living my best life is always a bit jarring and depressing. The reality hit me this evening when I got out of the bus from Andong and found myself at the Express Bus Terminal in Seoul, surrounded by thousands of people, each in his or her own little, buzzing universe-bubble and trying to navigate a path through the madding crowd. Best life: out the window. Welcome back to normal existence.

I suppose, in one sense, it'll be good to get back into the regular routine—although for the next week or so, I'm planning to treat my feet extra nicely before I start distance walking again. When I left the office, I was in the middle of an unimportant project, and now, I can get back to that. It's mind-numbing work, but it pays the bills and keeps me occupied. I also need to refocus on my book project, which I'm very behind on. I mean, the manuscript has been written for years (the book is a collection of movie reviews), but it all needs to be edited and formatted for both ebook and tree-book editions. I've also got some cooking projects to focus on, including making veggie burgers that taste halfway decent, even if they don't end up tasting like beef. I also have a ton of YouTube recipes to try out.

Given how tired I feel right now, though, what I really need is a vacation from this vacation. Maybe I should go back to Andong and chill out. Andong seems like a very nice place, although the local accent is as annoying as what I heard in Daegu.

In any case, tomorrow, I'm back to work. It was a good and educational vacation; you can read all about it at the Kevin's Walk 6 blog. I'm not done writing there: I still need to go back and enlarge all the photos in all the blog posts, and I have to write my wrap-up post discussing the many things I learned and discovered. So stay tuned! There's always more hot, steaming content being squeezed out, so open wide.
