I need to review everything I learned ("learned") today from ChatGPT regarding HTML, CSS, and Javascript (also written as JavaScript): it was a blizzard of information. I'm also gently coaxing ChatGPT to teach me in a style that reinforces learning, i.e., by constantly checking my knowledge through non-multiple-choice quizzes. Today's session was an information dump, with me basically just copying and pasting snatches of code into a practice area called CodePen, where you can input HTML, CSS, and Javascript and see in real time what your website would look like as a result of your inputs.
More questions than answers at this point. I have a lot of questions I'll need to ask ChatGPT during our second lesson this Friday, such as: How do you indent your code to fit the usual coding format? Is there a particular order in which sets of code are written out (e.g., is it always background-color, font-family, padding, or can you switch the order up?)? There's a lot to learn; I may have to ask ChatGPT to slow down and concentrate on giving me opportunities to practice instead of having me unthinkingly copy/paste everything. I need to understand the nested logic of HTML, CSS, and JS, which feels a lot like the old BASIC and Pascal languages I'd learned in junior high and high school (logic is logic, I guess). Hey, maybe I'll practice by placing some code in my blog entries. Watch for shocking-pink backgrounds and obnoxiously fluorescent text.
