Ultimately, I'm not sure deportation is the greatest solution. If they're thrown out, they'll contrive a way to sneak back in—again and again. This is why I'm not totally against amnesty, but it has to be amnesty with enforced conditions: learn English well, engage in civil or military service, and obey the law. Or become fuel for our new Mr. Fusion plants.
