Hmm, I watched this one, but something felt off. I assume that is not her voice narrating, but is she the one depicted in the video? I appreciated the sentiments expressed and would like to know more about her story and the escape from North Korea. Oh, and I noticed she was wearing a facemask (under the nose) while outdoors by herself. The indoctrination runs deep.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's almost certainly an AI voice, and if she's "fresh off the boat" from North Korea, I doubt she's that fluent in English, so her words may have been translated by AI. But as to whether "hanaya" is herself an AI construct... I think she's a real person, but in other videos, I've only ever seen/heard her speaking in Korean or very basic English. Her sister Ina has made an appearance in some videos. I need to watch more of her videos because a lot of things remain unclear to me, too. For example, did she move to the US or to South Korea? In this video, most of the final shots were of South Korea.
DeleteAh—here's a video where Hana confirms she's using a "hybrid" method of her own words and AI-voice narration since her English still isn't that good. So you are definitely seeing her through a filter, but at heart, there's a real human being.
Thanks for the update. Yeah, the AI voice is better than broken English for sure. I assumed she was living in South Korea, and I'm happy that she's escaped the NK hellhole. I'll have to explore her YouTube page and learn more about her.
