Strawberry-cream-flavored Dr. Pepper?! What is this abomination?
ReplyDeleteSaid he a year later.
DeleteYeah, to my taste, it's bizarrely good.
You might want to try blackberry flavored Dr. Pepper or Blue Bell's ice cream Dr. Pepper. There's even a Dr. Pepper flavored shake at Whataburger. Personally, as a big fan of the original, I found all three to be disgusting, but there were people who loved Crystal Pepsi.
ReplyDeleteIn this post from last year, I'd written:
DeleteOther remarks about today: there was a Sheetz eatery/convenience store across the street from Young Chow. I visited it to get some Cherry Coke Zero, but I also saw a new Dr. Pepper flavor: Blackberry Dr. Pepper. Curious, I bought it despite the sugariness, figuring in for a penny, in for a pound given the carb self-immolation I'd just participated in. I drank it as I drove back to my hotel, and I must say... I was thoroughly disappointed. The blackberry taste utterly dominated; I couldn't taste any Dr. Pepper through all of that artificial flavor. Never again. Am I getting finicky in my old age? Probably not finicky enough.
No idea how I might get hold of Blue Bell's Ice Cream Dr. Pepper in Seoul, but I'll check around.
I vaguely remember Crystal Pepsi and recall finding it only tolerable.
There are even Dr. Pepper flavored candy canes now. However, the last time I visited a super sized Kroger, I was shocked to see all the alternative versions of Mountain Dew. I guess all those new energy and flavored water drinks are putting pressure on the bottom lines of cola companies to diversify their offerings or go belly up.
ReplyDeleteI forget—you're in the States now? Texas? In about a month or two, I'm going to do that Geumgang walk, which starts in Daejeon. Thought that might be an opportunity to meet up before I start walking.
DeleteCOVID-19 and a war in Eastern Europe have really done a number to my plans. And just this week, Canada has decided to tighten up its visa requirements and clamp down on newcomers as its economy is not well at all.
ReplyDeleteIf this is coded language for something, I'm not getting it.
