elegy of "The Witcher," Season 4

I never watched the series, but I stood off to one side and watched while it burned. Henry Cavill, an inveterate gamer who is a huge fan of the game and the books, left in disgust once he saw that the showrunners had no respect for the original material. His role was recast with Liam Hemsworth (one of two "cheaper" Hemsworth brothers, both standing in the shadow of Chris), and while no one blames Hemsworth for this turn of events, everyone sees Season 4 as the death knell. There will, from what I hear, be a Season 5, which may already have been filmed. Season 5 will be the final season.
