A heart surgeon is asked to rate various factors in terms, from 1 to 10, of how harmful they are to the heart. Here's the breakdown (with 10 = worst for your heart):
vaping = 10
stress (bad stress) = 8
sodas = 3 or 4
poor sleep = 10
alcohol = 10
Some of the comments to the video (edited):
Thank God I’m in the clear. I was worried heavy cocaine usage would be a 10, but it didn’t even have a number.
I had a heart attack at age 53 due to stress from work, divorce, depression etc. Didn't smoke, didn't drink, wasn't overweight, walked 5 miles per day. Stress very bad.
I never used tobacco in any form. I'm 79 now. I don't drink alcohol and haven't in 55 years. I do have sleep issues caused by PTSD thanks to two tours in Vietnam.
The sleep issue is no joke. When I only get 4 hours of sleep, the whole day is a struggle.
I had quadruple heart surgery. 35-year police officer and 3 years Army. Stress.
I was getting an echocardiogram and asked the doctor if it's bad to have a few cups of coffee per day. He told me worry more about the alcohol than the coffee.
This is great news, I'm a 350-pound man, and my hobbies are shoveling snow and smoking cigarettes. I guess since they're not on the list, I'm in the clear, thank God.
I stopped drinking 30 days ago today. I cannot stress enough the astounding difference in just one month. I hadn't realized how "poisoned" I'd always felt... and so I drank more to make the feeling go. I feel 15 years younger, I look so much healthier, and I'm genuinely happy. Literally EVERY aspect of my life improved when I quit.
My grandmother had 1 drink every evening for her entire adulthood. She lived to 92, outliving 2 husbands, 1 daughter, and 3 types of cancer.
