curse you, Spider-Man!

Looks as though I won't be seeing "Spider-Man: No Way Home" until it's out on home video. Korea has really turned the screws with its vaccine-pass mandate, so I can't see movies in theaters anymore; I was lucky, I guess, to have been able to see "Dune" before the restrictions were put into place. I did try to register with HBO Max so as to see "No Way Home" at home now, but no dice. Even with my VPN on (I use Surfshark), I was told I couldn't register with HBO Max because of my region. Very sad, especially with all the critics saying this is a great movie and a fitting end to the so-called "Home" trilogy of Spider-Man movies by director John Watts.

I guess I'll review "No Way Home" in a few months, then, when the hype will have died down, and everyone will have moved on to the next big distraction. Not that I'm missing much: I've watched all the spoiler reviews, so I already know all the major plot points.

For what it's worth, I was very disappointed with the new Spider-Man (for reasons I shall elaborate on in a forthcoming post, once all the chaos and carnage dies down). So I don't think you're missing all that much. But that's just my curmudgeonly opinion.

I'll assume you're not joking, although it's tempting to think you are given the reaction of most of the critics I've watched on YouTube. They're raving about the movie—even The Critical Drinker.

Nope, not joking at all. I haven't seen any of the rave reviews, so I can't really respond to those, but I was genuinely disappointed. More on that later.

I look forward to reading your review. Feel free to make it spoilery; I know everything already.
