I'm one of those troglodytes who often has trouble telling who's gay and who's not (and don't get me started about bi, non-binary, trans, etc.). This ability is informally called gaydar; my brother Sean, being gay, has it, but I do not—unless the person in question is an out-and-out flamer. Here's a Kallmekris (pronounce it "Call me Kris") reaction video in which Kris attempts to figure out which guy is the straight one. This vid kind of messed with my head, mainly because of how it concludes, but it confirmed that I still have no gaydar.
