  1. The ratio of a circle's circumference to its area is 4:6. What is the circle's radius?

    Circumference = 2πr
    Area = πr^2

    So 2πr / πr^2 = 4/6. From here, it's simple algebra. First, cross-multiply.

    6•2πr = 4(πr^2)

    Here, you can go multiple routes. Mine is:

    Divide by r:
    12π = 4πr

    Divide by π:
    12 = 4r

    Divide by 4:
    r = 3

    QED.
