The build is happening on several fronts. I'm still trying to decide whether this current blog will have a role in the future. I'm working on two Substack sites (I've been on Substack since 2022, but I haven't written there in years) and a Shopify store that has, at present, exactly one item (PDF sample for that item pending; visit the site here—if it's password protected, let me know, and I can remove the password). One Substack site will be devoted to creative activities, something I've been wanting to get back into. The other Substack site will be devoted to improving one's grammar and writing. My eventual hope is to coordinate this Substack site with phone apps for Android and iPhone—one free "diagnostic test" app followed by a slew of paid apps, all of which will cost only the minimum price for an app ($0.99 for Play Store; $0.29 for the Apple Store). The Substack language site will be where a person can find lectures and lessons related to improving one's writing. The apps will be where people can purchase quizzes to test their knowledge after having gone through the Substack lessons. The whole thing needs to be tied together under a single brand name; feel free to offer suggestions. I'm also trying to figure out how to create decent banners for the Substack sites. Right now, I've got this, which I tried uploading:
The upload resulted in a tiny thumbnail image instead of an across-the-page banner, so I have to go back and figure out whether setting up this kind of banner is even possible. And yeah, I know: I have no idea how to market myself. That's supposed to be the banner for the creative-writing site. If you can think of a better title with the structure "BigHominid's Extraordinarily [adjective] Idea [noun]," offer it in the comments. I haven't done anything for the language site yet, but I'm sure that that banner will be more sedate since my market is learners, not people seeking nasty shit. But I should confess that I'm also thinking of adding another Substack site—one where, for a higher price, one can access the dirty version of language learning along the line of what I was doing for commas (links to all posts are here). I've had the title Dirty Grammar rattling around in my head for years.
Well, none of this is ready yet. July turned out to be a month of setbacks, but there were some small, invisible (to the public) victories.
More on all of this later.

I get the screen saying "opening soon," but I didn't need a password to see that or to subscribe (which I did). When you are up and running, feel free to use me as an example of bad grammar.
