ululate!

Robert Duvall is dead at 95. What an appropriate number since I've missed 95% of Duvall's movies. Here are some that I can list randomly off the top of my head—movies in which he figured as a main character or as an interesting side character:

Let's Get Harry
Apocalypse Now
The Judge
Jack Reacher
The Natural
Sling Blade
The Godfather
The Godfather, Part II
THX-1138 (incredible film)
The Apostle (another incredible film)

I have Secondhand Lions in my queue; I might watch it today in tribute. I also need to see The Great Santini, a movie that was more for my father's generation.

Duvall was a font of acting talent, and he died the way I'd prefer to die: at home, not in a hospital. All of my childhood mainstays are dying off now.

RIP.
