horrifying Yuletide epiphany

I only just realized that

It rubs the lotion on its skin
Or else it gets the hose again*

and

He thrusts his fists against the posts
And still insists he sees the ghosts**

are both in iambic tetrameter.

This bears examination. What if iambic tetrameter is the natural rhythm of horror stories? What if iambic tetrameter is the rhythm of Cthulhu's leprous, rotting, cosmic heart?
