With help from this YouTube tutorial, I finally did something I'd been meaning to do for years: I cleaned my moldy shower curtain. This was one of those gross, reddish molds, too—so bad and so overgrown that it literally stiffened the bottom of the curtain. I followed the video's advice step by step (although I suspect some steps could be switched around), and the result was nothing short of miraculous. My shower curtain looks and smells like new, and this feels like a moral victory. That's another cleaning project off my checklist.
ADDENDUM: I was staying overnight at the home of a friend who shall remain nameless. I had to take a shower, and when I stepped into my friend's tub, I saw the inside of his shower curtain was half covered in black mold—from the floor to about my waist. Had I known then the method I used just now, I'd have cleaned his curtain up in ten minutes.
