I went to a marché de Noël in France once (a Christmas market, i.e., a section of a town where open stalls are set up for food and drink and random strolling, plus some shopping), many years back, when my buddy Dominique and his family lived in Colmar, an Alsatian town near the German border. My understanding is that the Christmas market is a German idea, but the French-German border is the site of plenty of cultural cross-pollination, and thus was the French marché de Noël born. Below, YouTuber Andong (a nickname he acquired from living in China) takes a friend with him to review a typical German Christmas market to see how good the food is. Results are... interesting.
