Stephen King was unsavory even before his politics started getting in the way of his writing

Anyone who's read Stephen King's massive novel It (which I found to be a nonsensical slog—I refer to the book in my reviews of the two recent "It" movies, here and here) knows that there's one particular sex scene that is bound to make any sane adult uncomfortable.

  1. I was a big King fan back in the day. "The Stand" is probably my overall favorite. His politics certainly show his icky side, and I find him an insufferable and ignorant blowhard these days.
