a growing narrative: Biden's spiteful revenge

The growing narrative has been that Biden is upset about having been taken out of the running by his own party (this was mainly due to his publicly disastrous debate performance, which could not be hidden from the public). The first thing Biden did was actively endorse Kamala Harris as the new Dem nominee, thereby putting an incompetent twat up front and preventing other nominees from being considered... but once she started her own campaign, his real agenda has become more apparent: to pull an I-told-you-so by helping the Cackler to crash and burn. He never really liked her, after all. She'd called him a racist (yawn) during that presidential debate years ago, then she got thoroughly dismantled by then-Democrat, now-Independent Tulsi Gabbard, who pointed out all of Kamala's inconsistencies, all of which still exist today. "See?" Biden can then say after Kamala fails. "You should never have gotten rid of me, and now Trump is going to get a second term. Great move, guys."

There are strong counterarguments that Creepy Joe, in his current state, doesn't have the long-lasting lucidity to formulate plans of this nature and to see them through (although Jill might!). That's plausible, but the counter-counterargument is that even mentally feeble people have moments of lucidity, and they can return to things they've been focused on for a long time, like, in this case, revenge. I'm imagining Biden as Patrick McGoohan's version of Edward Longshanks in "Braveheart." Anyway...

Headline (10/8):

Biden Does It Again, Completely Nukes Kamala Harris' Attack on Ron DeSantis

I know that people roll their eyes when you suggest there's some part of Joe Biden that wants Kamala Harris to lose after she and the Democratic Party stabbed him in the back. After all, Donald Trump is a "threat to democracy," and how could the president possibly prefer anything but a Harris victory? But man are these instances getting hard to ignore.

The setup revolves around a disgusting and shameful attack launched by the vice president on Monday in which she accused Gov. Ron DeSantis of playing politics by not taking her call. As RedState reported, Harris lambasted the Florida governor even as another major hurricane barrels toward his state.

It took a lot of chutzpah to say that while DeSantis was busy doing things that matter. You know, like running the disaster response for what is going to be one of the largest hurricanes ever to hit Florida. Why exactly is Harris calling anyway? I've been assured by her supporters, including Mark Cuban, that the vice president has no power and is responsible for nothing. What would she have to offer of value?

DeSantis blasted the vice president in response, saying that she's the one politicizing the storm, trying to get a boost for her presidential campaign.

[ ... ]

Here's the hilarious thing, though. While Harris was playing politics and trying to garner headlines by going after DeSantis, just a few hours later, Biden responded by saying he spoke to DeSantis and everything was great.

[Biden's tweet] Tonight, I spoke with Florida Governor DeSantis and Tampa Mayor Castor for firsthand reports on Hurricane Helene recovery and preparations for Hurricane Milton. My Administration is ready to support both leaders and the people of Florida with any further resources they may need.

I can just picture Harris pulling her hair out, chugging a glass of wine at this point. She laid the groundwork for a narrative that DeSantis rebuffed federal help and was putting politics above the safety of Floridians, and no sooner than she did, Biden showed up to say the opposite. He could have easily played along and he didn't.

Is that just another coincidence? I can't say for sure, but man, does it feel like he's taking little shots at Harris throughout the campaign. In the last month alone, Biden has contradicted the vice president multiple times regarding her attempt to separate herself from the administration.

Returning to DeSantis, the long and short of is simple. He had no obligation to waste his time so Harris could cosplay as president for political reasons. As he points out, multiple hurricanes have hit Florida over the last four years. The fact that she only bothered to call now spoke volumes about her true intentions. If she wants to be president, she can invoke the 25th Amendment or win in November. What she doesn't get to do is have it both ways, pretending to be a leader when it suits her while washing her hands of her failures when it doesn't.

I'd say "Read the rest," but that's it. So—Biden's petty revenge? You decide!
