two posts at the walk blog

I've finally slapped up the Day 1 post about this past weekend's walk (warning: long!). I also wrote the post announcing my decision as to whether to walk or cancel. Both are up. The Day 2 post is coming. It might be done by Thursday night, but more likely, it'll take me until Friday. Wednesday was a holiday; I took advantage of that to work all day on the Day 1 post. I'm back to work tomorrow and Friday, so I don't have as much free time. I'd hoped to get everything done on Wednesday, but the posts are just too huge.

That's what she said.

  1. Just finished the post about your decision regarding this year's walk. I agree with your reasoning and rationale. I don't want to post a spoiler comment here, so I'll leave it at that.

I don't know what's going on, but I wasn't able to leave a comment on the Walk Blog. It says to "click here" to sign in with Google, but when I do that, it just takes me back to the "click here" button. Not sure if the problem is on my end or yours.

  2. I didn't have any problem just now, but the problem could still be on my end. I've gotten complaints about commenting from others, so it wouldn't surprise me to discover this was a Blogger problem. I guess the key is being able to sign in. See here.

  3. Having the same problem as John trying to comment on the other blog, but others have commented with no issues, so maybe it is me (and him LOL).

You have to be you. I think your fourth reason makes it okay to do the walk. It is not like you are walking the Arctic Circle Trail, 200 Km from the nearest road. You are relatively close to civilization at all times, and if you need assistance or need to cut the walk short, it is not that difficult.

Long distance walking is something you enjoy doing, and I think the odds of something happening DUE to the walk are pretty slim. If you were doing repeated high intensity work, then yeah, maybe postpone the walk. But that is not the case. I say to go ahead and enjoy the journey!

  4. Still can't comment there on the Walk blog: "Unable to sign in to comment. Please check your browser configurations to allow sign-in."

I think it is because I've disabled cookies. Weird that I don't have any issues on this Blogger blog...
