Merit from Federal HR retired almost seven years ago and moved to the Philippines.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have formal DEI programs back then. Still, the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) office (not under my control as HR Director) would send out reminders during the hiring process about which groups were "underrepresented" in the workforce. I would just shrug and pick the person with the best qualifications for the job. That strategy worked well for me.
