I made myself some chicken shawarmas since I had leftover Middle Eastern seasonings and goat cheese. Homemade flatbreads from Charles's recipe rounded out the meal, and overall, the food was enjoyable. It did make me a bit wistful, though: I'd made a similar dinner for my buddy Mike when he'd come over last year. This time around, the protein was chicken, which was good and delicious, but in the end, I think I like a beef/lamb combo better (which is what I'd served Mike).
This chicken shawarma was inspired by that shawarma guy from Shelby's in Canada, which is why I used the pomegranate molasses that I had bought for just this occasion. I didn't have any French fries to add to my shawarma, but I did have dill pickles.
