camera: preliminary unboxing

I finally ordered a camera so I can start practicing some of the things I've been learning. It's a mirrorless Canon EOS R50, bought as a set with a basic kit and considered a good 2025 camera for beginners. I'll be learning my way around it over the next few days, with pics and maybe video starting in May. That might at least increase the proportion of original content on this blog. Here's a sequence of images showing the initial unboxing.

The Chinese says jeong-pum/정품, which could mean "best/original product" or "refined/genuine article." The smaller print suggests that this sticker certifies "post-sales service" for a year after purchase. Koreans use "A/S" as a Konglish way to say "after-service," which has to do with servicing (repairing, etc.) a product after it's been purchased. It's in the neighborhood of a warranty.

I tried to erase serial-number and other private info.

here, too

Gimme some time to play with my new toy, and we'll see what chaos I can unleash.

  1. Looks nice! And, yes, 正品 does indeed mean "genuine article." Basically, what they mean is that it isn't a knock off. I guess it's like a "certificate of authenticity."
