All those threats of creating an "America" party may have been just noise per the Vince Dao video below. Elon is, if nothing else, a waffler, and I've been clear that, even though I appreciate his free-speech stance in the American context (e.g., his measures in redoing Twitter/X), I have my doubts about Elon taken as a whole. As long as he's still in China (Shanghai and Xinjiang Tesla facilities), one has to wonder how serious Elon is about free speech in the global context. And as long as he's pro-EV (given that he's the CEO of Tesla), he's going to be in conflict with the more petrochemical Trump. Add to that the fact that Musk is a triple-citizen (US, Canada, South Africa), and you have to wonder exactly how deep his commitment to America is. Can a triple-citizen be a patriot?
