separation before les séparatistes do it?

That would be richly ironic, wouldn't it, if Saskatchewan and Alberta broke away from Canada before Quebec did. Quebec has, for years, talked about separating from the rest of Canada, and it never happens because too many Quebecker politicians have little, tiny couilles de grenouille. And now, Alberta's fed up with producing for the whole nation and getting constantly kicked in the head for it, so it's thinking about leaving. Saskatchewan's desire to leave, though, is new to me, mainly because I'm utterly clueless about Canadian politics. But I'm learning thanks to vloggers like Viva Frei and others.

But if you look at the thumbnail, you see a misleading image: first, I don't see any reason why Alberta and Saskatchewan would ever want to join the United States as new American states. Second, the thumbnail map shows British Columbia also breaking away and becoming American, which is a laugh: thanks mainly to Vancouver, British Columbia is a pretty liberal province, maybe in the same way that Oregon is a blue state: Oregon is blue primarily thanks to Portland, where everybody lives, but the rest of Oregon is largely conservative in temperament and politics. I don't see British Columbia leaving anytime soon... but those three side-by-side provinces would make for an awesome, new country! Whatever happens, I'm sure it'll be amusing. Not that I want to see Canada break up into fragments, but given its recent and current leadership, it deserves whatever instability is heading its way. And stop with the MAID abuse! There are other ways for governments to save money.
