So soon after Ozzy Osbourne, no less.
Pro wrestler and professional shirt-ripper Hulk Hogan (Terry Gene Bollea) died during the Korean night, at age 71, while I was sleeping. An outsized, frequently tacky, larger-than-life persona, Hulk tackled life with a great deal of loud bonhomie and frequent personal and legal controversy. A pro wrestler mainly from the 70s to the 90s, Hogan retired from wrestling in 2012 and had been on multiple career tracks as a product sponsor, a voice actor, and even a movie actor. Two divorces and a racism controversy in 2015 left Hogan financially strapped. In one of his biggest gestures, Hogan came out in support of Donald Trump during Trump's second (2024) presidential campaign. Like a lot of us big guys, Hogan died of cardiac arrest, being found in his Florida home after someone had called in an emergency. RIP.
