This article at ROK Drop informs us that the song "Golden," from the new "K-Pop Demon Hunters" animated movie (apparently on Netflix), is currently #1 in the UK. I just listened to "Golden" out of morbid curiosity, and I've concluded that it's utterly based on Disney-style songs like "Let It Go." Same peppy rhythm—cranked up a bit for that frenetic K-pop style—and the same extreme sonic ups and downs (mostly ups) to grab kids' attention. I can absolutely see why it's catchy, and I can also see it's based on the same Disney formula. K-pop is already an inherently formulaic genre; Koreans these days are proud of how this "culture" is being embraced around the world, but I kind of wish the Korean culture that got embraced was more along the lines of brush art, court music, pottery, traditional food, and other, quieter, more old-school aspects of life on this old peninsula.
NB: curiously, Wikipedia calls "K-Pop Demon Hunters" an American movie.
