It's a more ponderous review than normal, the one I'm writing for "Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning." Normally, I write longer reviews for movies I mostly like, but in this case—unsurprisingly—I'm not a huge fan of this one. That said, the movie—despite an often-nonsensical story—traffics in a lot of interesting themes, and I need space for both a long summary and a long critical discussion. When the review comes out, grab a drink and a sandwich, but have more snacks ready in case you finish those and are still reading. This is gonna take you a while. You've been warned.
