time marches on

I remember way back, in the mists of the 1980s, when Mia Sara was briefly a thing. She had a reputation as a bitch to work with, but she ended up in 1986's "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and the visually-striking-but-awful 1985 "Legend" (starring Tom Cruise, with Tim Curry as the Devil-figure). If she did anything else in the interim, I never saw it, but I see she's come out of retirement/seclusion to star in "The Life of Chuck" with Tom Hiddleston. Happily, she seems to have escaped the fate of so many Hollywood women and appears to have aged gracefully, a lot like Jane Seymour (the actress, not the 1500s queen of England), who has long been praised for aging like fine wine.

Tastes are supposed to change as you get older. Men shouldn't become creepy predators pining for young flesh and should instead learn to appreciate the refinement, common sense, dignity, and beauty that all come with age (at least ideally). I don't know whether Mia is still a prickly, spoiled harridan, but she at least looks good.

And if I'm being fooled by surgery or CGI trickery, well, it's nicely done. Here's what Mia Sara and Jane Seymour look like in motion these days. I'd say they still look pretty damn fine.

  1. "Men shouldn't become creepy predators pining for young flesh..."

Here in the PI, the young females are pining for us old men. Or at least our wallets. But you have to respect the culture of your adopted homeland, so why resist? As the ladies are wont to say, "age is just a number."

    1. Always with the rationalizations.

And you, of course, have no choice but to succumb to their dubious charms. I thought conservatives were all about choice and responsibility, not "I just can't seem to help myself."
