coming back to the chaos

I'm back in Seoul after (you haven't changed a bit, honey) and back to regular blogging here at the main blog. Having been gone from my apartment for three weeks, I now have some problems that need to be dealt with.

  1. Laundry. I was too tired to do it last night, so that's one of today's projects.
  2. Internet. As happened earlier this year when I went to the States, I've come back to discover my desktop computer's internet connection is once again on the fritz. There's a guy in our building who is on call for such problems. I could theoretically contact him today, but I don't want to add to his Sunday issues, so I'll talk to him tomorrow.
  3. Food/drink. Looks as though it's time to order a bunch of stuff from Coupang.
  4. Where to computer? AI says you can get fast WiFi service if you go to a PC방, so I'll visit one with my phone and laptop later today so I can get organized for the rest of the year and beyond. I need to start materials generation for Substack and write up my walk postmortem, not to mention upload twenty days' worth of pictures to my blog.
  5. Doctor. I need to visit my local doc this week to look at my toe and get some prescription meds.
  6. Bill pay. I was expecting to see my monthly bill from Daecheong Tower for my admin fee, electricity, etc., but strangely, there was no bill. These are normally due on the 15th of every month, so as of today, I am now technically late. Luckily, the late charge is only ever a couple of dollars, so paying a late fee (my first time ever) won't be tragic. I'll visit my apartment's admin office tomorrow and figure out what's up. I'll probably ask the staff to print up another copy of my latest bill for my records.

So there's a lot to do. I'm still tired, though, so I'm going to slob out a few more hours before I get off my ass and start working.

It's tradition for me, in late November, to uphold the American Thanksgiving tradition by cooking a ton of food and hosting a huge meal for guests. I don't think that's going to be happening this year, so I'll probably scale back my ambitions and just make turkey pot pie, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie only for myself. Introvert's Thanksgiving.

Aside from that, I'll be back on my normal diet/exercise routine. And as long as I don't blow my heart out, I need to get back into staircase training as part of my exercise. I have a little stepper that I use inside my apartment, but it doesn't make me breathe very hard.

So—much to do, much to ponder. Life goes on.
