a walk yesterday evening

I didn't eat all day yesterday except for a handful of cashews—the poor dregs left in the cashew bag. That was in the afternoon. The timeline went like this:

  1. Take meds in the morning.
  2. Eat a handful of cashews in the afternoon.
  3. Go for a 10K walk in the evening.

So I went out around 8:35 p.m. and got back to my place at 10:55 p.m. That's about a 4.2-kph pace. But that's not the important thing. I had no chest pains whatsoever, and it was cool enough to feel as though we had skipped summer and gone straight to fall, i.e., we're still experiencing the last gasp of spring.* So it was a cool, comfortable, pleasant walk (no photos—sorry), and given my lack of pain, I had to wonder why I hadn't chosen to train out to Yangpyeong to do the Yangpyeong-to-Yeoju route that I like so much.

I'm thinking, therefore, that I might try a long route early this coming week—say, Monday or Tuesday night. If not Yangpyeong-Yeoju, then I can do the 36K route down to Bundang and back. Or I can start at Bundang, walk to my place, turn around, end at Bundang, then take the subway back. That would be a good, flat walk, and it would lack the big hill that sits at around the 8000-step mark on the Yangpyeong-Yeoju route. I dunno. I'll have an answer to all of these questions by Monday afternoon.

One thing I know is that I won't be walking today. Today is salad-and-salmon day. Tomorrow, too. I might do some strength exercises, though: gotta catch up.
