Actor James Caan is dead at 82. I don't see a cause of death listed anywhere yet. Caan starred in numerous movies, including "The Godfather," "Misery," and "Elf." I saw "The Godfather," but not the other two films. Caan always struck me as something of a bland Everyman who never had quite the star wattage of Redford or Newman. That said, he did his own thing and forged his own path, appearing in all genres of movies. Oh, yeah—I remember he played the bad guy in "Eraser," opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger.
RIP, Mr. Caan.
