I shouldn't be linking to this, but...

I've blogged before about the explosive power of 9-millimeter rounds when used on soft chipmunk skulls. I've left links and dared you to click on them. Well, the EdGun Leshiy channel is at it again, this time with a YouTube Short featuring a single tannerite* round versus a single chipmunk skull. To put it politely, the result is brutal.

Click if you dare.

I should note that the guy makes the argument that the total destruction of the chipmunk's skull is the most humane way to kill it. I'd say that's nearly undeniable. If I were to be executed, I'd want to be shot (1) when I'm not expecting it, and (2) in a way that utterly obliterates my skull in milliseconds, i.e., before my nervous system even gives me a chance to realize what's happening. As you'll see if you click on the above link, it truly is lights out to have your head destroyed that way. I don't want to be hanged or electrocuted, nor do I want a lethal injection. Just blow my head up.

__________

*Tannerite is a binary (i.e., 2-element) explosive normally found in targets, with the explosion used to signal a hit. It can, however, be used to make explosive rounds. EdGun Leshiy has shown the effectiveness of tannerite rounds when used against squirrels, and the results weren't that dramatic because squirrels have harder, thicker skulls, at least compared to chipmunks. I don't know what God was thinking when he created chipmunks, but those little guys have come up short in the skull department: their craniums seem to be paper thin. If they weren't such pests, I'd almost feel sorry for them.

  1. I didn't have the brains to not click on the link. I guess I blew it. What's seen can't be unseen. Poor Alvin.
