can't believe I'm doing this

I never do this, but I'm going to recommend a post written by Sarah Hoyt. Her piece is titled "There Is No Going Back Home," and it may be the most rational case for Trump I've read this election cycle. I'm normally annoyed by Hoyt's prose; she's repeatedly pointed out that English isn't her first language, and the result is that she constructs her sentences and employs odd turns of phrase in strange and sometimes incomprehensible ways. That strangeness is at a minimum in the above-linked piece. Give her a read, with my blessing.
