Charles gets that sinking feeling.
Okay, I feel kinda bad about the above flippancy. Charles had written an earnest post about something that had touched him and moved him to prayer. Ignore my assholery and give his post a read. I'm still thinking about it.

That is a good piece that Charles wrote. Excellent work.
ReplyDeleteYes, that was a good read. My father was a merchant marine, and his father was a riverboat captain on the Mississippi. The seafarer's life is wrought with peril, but I suppose that is part of the unique experience.
ReplyDeleteI've always been a big Gordon Lightfoot fan and had noticed the 50th anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, and thought of the song.
Thanks for the link to Charles's post; it warmed my heart.
Thank, guys. And thanks for sending people my way, Kevin.
ReplyDelete(Also, I'm a sucker for a good pun, so I don't mind.)
C,
DeleteBe sure to visit John McCrarey's blog for all sorts of puns! The man loves to bend words. Look at how he took the phrase "fraught with peril" and created "wrought with peril"!
