While the content of Josh and Ollie's channel is good, I don't like how they pander to their Korean audience with all of the corny special effects to make their videos seem more like a Korean/Japanese variety show. That's exactly the sort of fluff I hate about Korean culture. Don't get me wrong: there's much to like and respect about Korea, but corny, flash-bang special effects and cotton-candy content are not among them. So cringe-inducingly infantilizing. (Not that American TV is any better, of course. Pretty much all TV around the world is mind-numbing shit, and I haven't missed most TV shows in years. Now, if only we could get companies to stop calling Netflix and Amazon content "TV" and just stick to calling it "streaming video," which it is...)
