weird math

The video talks about a problem that I've encountered when trying to teach kids math or when explaining how many floors I've traveled while doing staircase training.

If the teacher asks you to read from page 30 to 40, how many pages will you have read? If I walk from the first floor to the tenth floor, how many floors have I walked? If you drive across the US from the beginning of May 5 (midnight) to the end of May 8 (midnight), how many 24-hour days have you driven? Welcome to the off-by-one error.
